From live to canned music

So far our music was the result of a perpetual loop of improvising, recording, listening, rehearsing and - again - improvising. We believe that music is something happening as interaction between sending and reception in space. Music can be heard only once. Hearing music repeatedly builds new music. Were does music go if we don't store it?

To record our livesets and publish somehow frozen improvisations didn't feel right. Our goal was to synthesize Superlooper-like music while producing and hearing it.

A sound-alike competition

Each of us collected and reassambled sounds, wether from earlier recordings, new recordings of each other or "foreign" sounds and constructed his view of Superlooper.

So we came up with 13 Tracks, 3 Superlooper-self-conceptions and 2 CDs.

„Construct me“ is a double album of two absolutely identical CDs. We ask listeners to play them in random order or looped simultaneously on their HiFi, kitchenradios, laptops and PCs and so complete the composition of the music. We don't shift responsibility on to the audience, we do shift the production of the music where it belongs: to hearing.
